Glass from four millenniaOld castle
The Württemberg State Museum houses one of the most important glass collections in Europe. With the Ernesto Wolf Collection, which was acquired between 1991 and 2003, the museum was able to expand its already considerable holdings. We are thus in the unique position of being able to show our visitors high-quality exhibits demonstrating the art of glass-making from its beginnings in Antiquity to the 19th century. The large barrel-vaulted undercroft below Dürnitz Hall provides a suitable architectural setting for the presentation of these 700 or so glass treasures.
